So it's just my luck that I finally catch up and there's... really nothing to say. Classes were fine. I went, I came back to the dorms, ate lunch, took a nap, woke up, went to dinner, and now I'm doing homework. Exciting, right?
I did get a bit of good news in Formal Arabic. We always have Formal class on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and our schedule for this lesson has activities scheduled accordingly. This weekend, however, is the entire programs trip to Sinai, and because the peninsula is ten to twelve hours away by bus, we're leaving Wednesday after class and returning late Sunday night. As in no classes on Thursday or Sunday.
I was concerned, because according to the schedule we have a paper due Thursday and a test on Monday, so I went to talk to the professor. This man is now my hero. "We'll just do it next week," he says. So now, I don't have the weight of a billion major projects on my shoulders just before the trip. Sure, there's still half a billion for my other classes, but somehow that feels much more manageable.
Oh! Also, with only a little more than a month left here, I've started keeping my eyes open for souvenirs. Those of you who are friends with me on Facebook already know this, but for those of you who aren't either leave a comment here (which I think you can do without an account) or E-mail me at lawilliams11@gmail.com telling me what you'd like, be that kitschy statues of the pyramids, or a postcard, or a picture of the Sphinx, etc. Heads up, if you're asking for a postcard, or if you don't live in the San Antonio/Austin area, an address would also be nice.
So... that's all for today. It was mostly business, but oh well. Habiba should be coming over later tonight for a language partner meeting. We'll be reading another article together and discussing new vocabulary and the life. It should be fun.
On that note, Happy Continued Fourth of July everyone!
